Are you considering starting a home business and using the internet to build it?  Maybe you want to be a stay at home mom or stay at home dad and work from home.  Have you already started a home business but you are not having any success with building it?  In either case what you are about to read will help you significantly if you follow through.  I wish I knew these things 10 years ago when I first started attempting to make money from home using the internet.  I didn’t profit from my online home business for the first 6 years.  The good thing is that I made a decision back in 2001 that I was for sure going to build a successful home business no matter how long it took.  Today I am going to pass on the knowledge I have learned to minimize the time that it takes you to build a successful home business.  I honestly believe if I had these steps in front of me 10 years ago that I would have been in profit my first year with internet network marketing.  If you follow through with these steps and stay focused you can be in profit in a much shorter time than it took me.  Follow these steps before you start an online business.  Even if you have already started one, but you are not getting desired results you should follow them.

1. Make a solid commitment that you are going to build a successful home business.  This is not something that you try to do.  You have to approach it with a “I will do this” mindset.
2. Start reading books and doing research about the online home business industry, attraction marketing, internet network marketing, and related topics.  I highly recommend reading this book “Magnetic Sponsoring” first.  This is the book that I read a few years ago that really changed how I approached my home business.  Yes there is a low cost, but if your not willing to invest in yourself to learn then the industry isn’t for you.  At a minimum at least go signup for the free videos that “Magnetic Sponsoring” offers.  Investing in yourself is a key element to becoming successful with anything in life.  Here is another Free e-book on attraction marketing that you should also read.  Read them both and you will find for good reason that they have some things in common.  If you read these two books a couple times you will know more than the average person involved with the internet network marketing industry and you will be able to make a sound decision whether or not the online home business industry is something you can pursue with passion.
3. Come to a realization that you will be building Your Business and not some companies business.  What I mean here is that for a home business you may decide to join some affiliate marketing program or internet network marketing company that will pay you for referring people to their products.  Understand that this company Is Not your business but the companies business.  The network marketing company that you get involved with is in reality only a tool to build your business with.  To build your business you need to be unique and focus on helping people solve their problems.  Show people that you can help them meet their needs and use the tool (network marketing company products) to help.  People will join you (Your Business) not the network marketing company.  Here is an example (Tom and Bob are both building a home business and they both are involved with the same internet network marketing company.  Tom focuses his time and efforts on promoting the network marketing company and how great the products are.  Tom is focused on making sales of the product and when he makes a sale has no intention of showing the customer how the product can meet their needs.  Bob on the other hand spends his time promoting Bob and how he can help you meet your needs.  Bob is more interested in helping you than he is about getting a sale of his network marketing companies product.  Bob will show you how to meet your needs even if you don’t get the network marketing companies product.)  Which of these two people are you more likely to do business with.
4. Start with something that you can afford long term.  If your going to get involved with internet network marketing to help you build your home business then start with what you can afford long term.  If you can’t afford to stay with the network marketing company for 12 months right now then don’t get involved with it.  Go find a network marketing company that you can afford to stay with.  One of the reasons so many people fail in the industry is because they get started with something that they can’t afford for more than a few months.  They expect profit in a couple months and then when it don’t happen they yell “SCAM”.  Some companies allow you to join at different levels depending on your budget.  One of the network marketing companies I like called Global NPN allows you to start at $10.75 a month and you can get a free report about the industry just for taking a look at it.  This company allows people to step up their income by increasing their membership level.  It also offers great internet marketing training.
5. Expect to have distractions put in front of you and learn to stay focused on your business.  In this industry you are going to be tempted to get involved with the “Next Best Thing Online”.  Train your mind to not be distracted by other peoples offers.  Stay focused on what you have to offer and how you can help people.
